Welcome
The Saco Spirit Sidewalk Arts Festival Committee invites you to participate in the 39th Annual Sidewalk Arts
Festival
located in the heart of beautiful historic downtown Saco.  Thousands of people attend this annual event
where more than 175 artists and craftsmen display a rich variety of artwork, photography, and sculpture.

The
Saco Sidewalk Arts Festival is an annual event organized and managed by Saco Spirit Inc., a non-profit
organization committed to making Saco a better place to live and work by enhancing the vitality of our downtown.  
The
Saco Sidewalk Arts Festival is dedicated to promoting art and culture in our community. Proceeds from the
Sidewalk Arts Festival are re-invested into the community. Members of Saco Spirit’s Arts Festival Committee,
and all our hard working volunteers look forward to seeing you this year, and thank you for your participation.

Application Instructions     
  • Please fill out the application form included with this letter. This information enables the Arts Festival  
    Committee to better serve all applicants and ensure a safe and enjoyable event for the artists and the
    community.
  • Each application form must be accompanied with an entry fee of $75.00 by June 1st, 2009.  After this date
    application fee will be $100.00. Please make checks payable to:  SACO SPIRIT SIDEWALK ARTS
    FESTIVAL.  In order to ensure confirmation of application, please return your completed application form
    along with a self addressed stamped envelope. No confirmation will be sent unless a self addressed stamped
    envelope is included. There are no refunds on application fees.*      
  • Display spaces will be assigned on a first come first served basis, (unless previous arrangements have
    been made). Spaces are 10x.  All traffic safety issues and respect for property will be strictly observed
    and maintained. Please make note of your desired location on the application form. Although this may not
    be a guarantee that your desired spot will be available, the Art Festival Committee will try their best to
    accommodate you.   
  • Artists are asked not to pack up booths prior to 4:00 p.m.

Awards and Prizes
Festival judges will base their choices on the following criteria. If you wish to be judged, please pick up a tag
    at the registration table. Place this tag on the piece you wish to have judged.

  •       Judges Choice Overall  -  $150.00
  •       Honorable Mention - $75.00
  •       Best Watercolor - $75.00
  •       Best Oil/Acrylic - $75.00
  •       Best Pastel - $75.00
  •       Best Photography -  $75.00  
  •       Best Mixed Media -  $75.00
  •       Best Fine Craft -  $75.00

PURCHASE PRIZE AWARDS (Open to Original Fine Art and Photography):  
Artists may enter
one original piece to be selected and purchased by local businesses and merchants who have
registered to be a purchase prize recipient.
